Open Water Diver

PADI Open Water Diver course is the most popular and highly recognized dive program in the world! This course also known as the basic diving course, allows you to dive with your buddy anywhere after your certification.
If you ever thought of discovering the beautiful underwater realms, this is your ticket to a lifetime of fun intense underwater adventure. Pamper yourself to a relax weekend on an exotic island while meeting new friends and perhaps even discover your new interest for life!
If you had previously participated in PADI Discover Scuba Diving or PADI Scuba Diver, please check with us on how you can gain credits to skip some modules during your PADI Open Water Diver course. Your course will consist of the following modules:-
- 5 Theory Chapters
- 5 Confined Pool Modules
- 4 Open Water Dives
Theory Session
Theory sessions are held during the timing listed below. Unlike other dive centers which charge a variable fee for additional sessions or fixed allocation of theory sessions, Sunny Cove does not have any limit at all.

We want you to be in control. If you require extra theory sessions to clear your doubt, feel free to schedule more. We want to ensure that you are equipped with the necessary knowledge before you proceed to the confined pool session. If you prefer to have a lesson between the time slot of 1400hrs – 1730hrs, there will be an additional charge of S$ 10 on top of the course fee.
Here are three methods that you may complete your theory session.
Study at your own convenience and pace with eLearning via online access to an electronic version of PADI Open Water Diver manual. You will then complete your quizzes and exam entirely at home without the need to drop by Sunny Cove. To learn how this entire process work, please click here.
Your personal copy of study material will be provided during sign up. You are required to go through them before scheduling another date at Sunny Cove for the instructor to clear any doubts you may have. Quizzes and exam will be administered at the end of the session. Questions are all multiple choice questions.
An instructor will go through the entire study material with you and the duration of each session is determined by your ability to understand the concept. Quizzes and exam will be administered at the end of the session. Questions are all multiple choice questions.
Confined Pool Practise

Confined pool session are conducted at Outram Secondary School unless stated otherwise. If you prefer to have a session on Sunday from 0930hrs – 1330hrs, there will be an additional charge of S$ 18 on top of the course fee.
Before commencement of confined pool session, you will need to demonstrate swimming proficiency in the following areas:-
- 200m swim with any stroke
- 10mins float or threading water
Please take note that the assessment is not a test but rather an evaluation of how confident you are in water. Do not allow this to deter you from taking up this fun sport as you can still opt for alternative method to demonstrate swimming proficiency if you are weak in swimming. There are no timing in both areas of evaluation.
Your Instructor will go through the required basic skills with you and evaluate your performance. Once you have demonstrate competency in all skills, you will be allowed to participate in the open water dive portion of your course.

Advance Open Water

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course enables you to gain confidence and competency while exploring exciting adventure dives.
If fun is your cup of tea, look no further! You will be able to experience the thrill of exploring the mysterious deep or even penetrating a sunken ship wreck from World War 2?
Apart from the Navigation & Deep dives which are the compulsory adventures, you will need to choose another three adventures dives out from the wide selection available to get your PADI Advanced Open Water certification. Your course will consist of the following modules:-

Scuba Review

Rescue Diver

Have you ever watched the Japanese movie: Umizaru? If you did, you would have seen how the hero rescued other divers and you could be the hero for someone else too!
This course will expand your knowledge and experience level: Rescue Divers learn to look beyond themselves and consider the safety and well being of other divers. The PADI Rescue Diver course goals are to:-
Anticipate and prevent problems as well as to manage them.
Utilise effective rescue techniques and first aid skills specific to diving.
Learn to manage diver emergency situations. Your course will consist of the following modules:-

Are you planning to do your PADI Open Water Diver course at a location which is not offered at Sunny Cove? Don’t worry, now you can do so with the referral program. With this program, you simply go there to dive – no theory and pool session!
You complete your theory and pool session in Singapore and to get your diving license, simply choose your own dream location and let us do all the arrangement for you!
